Alex Jones
Year 10 Tutor, Humanities Teacher
Alex joined Kings in January 2018 after a career as an offshore surveyor, using his degree in Mapping Science from Newcastle University. This involved sailing around the world on various scientific projects such as hunting for lost World War 2 submarines, moving oil rigs in Australia and mapping uncharted waters in the Baltic Sea.
Now happily settled in Slovakia, Mr Jones has moved into education, including a year spent learning Slovak language at Comenius University, Bratislava. Mr Jones has also started the International Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Nottingham University.
Aside from examining maps and reading anything about history, Alex spends his time hiking or cycling and has recently earned an international certificate in brewing beer.
